Club Championship

First Prize - $300 voucher

  • 10 heaviest fish in each of the above competitions awarded points (10 for heaviest, 9, 8, 7 etc)
  • Angler with the most points at end of season wins the Club Championship
  • Angler can only have one fish in top 10 for each competition
  • All fish species listed on permanent brag board

Nominated areas to be fished are:

Offshore – Launching at Barwon Heads and any ramp in the Surf Coast Shire
Surf Fishing – Anywhere in the boundaries of the Surf Coast Shire
Estuarine Fishing – Barwon Estuary, Thomson’s Creek, Spring Creek and Anglesea River
Freshwater – Lake Modewarre, Lake Murdeduke, Barwon River, Erskine River, Cumberland River, West Barwon Dam, Lake Elizabeth, Lake Bullen Merri, Purrembete, Ellingamite and Wurdeboloc Reservoir plus anywhere in Victoria  for Brag Board only.  

  • It should be noted that the decision to go offshore fishing always remains with the boats skipper and judgments need to be made concerning tide, swell, weather etc. 
  • Only the species of fish nominated will be permitted to count towards the final points tally to decide the Club Champion. 
  • This years Club Championship will be the individual who tallies the most number of points at the conclusion of the competition. 

The following rules apply to the Club Championship Competition:

  1. Competitors must be current members of TAC
  2. Fishing competition starts at 6pm on Friday and runs until midnight Sunday or 6pm Easter Monday.
  3. Fish must be taken by rod and reel or hand line.
  4. All competitors must launch and retrieve from ramps in the Surf Coast Shire or Barwon River for offshore fishing.
  5. No sharks shot by gun or powerhead will be accepted for weigh in for this competition (refer rule 3) and this will apply to brag boards and other club competitions.
  6. Decisions of the judges will be final (Club Committee).
  7. All competitors must abide by recreational fishing rules and guidelines.
  8. All Gummy & School Sharks must be weighed cleaned for competition and brag board.
  9. All fish weighed in for competitions must comply with minimum size limits as listed.
  10. In the event of a tie for the club championship a count back of rankings re competition places will decide the winner.
